Meet The Band:
Ness - Lead Vocals
Hi! I'm Ness! Music has always been a huge part of my life, and from an early age, I could be found singing, dancing, and acting, (but mainly singing), in various theatre shows and stage productions. But, as it inevitably does, life got in the way, so the music was temporarily shelved. However, when my family ties loosened over the years, I decided to reignite the flame and rekindle my passion for live performance. I joined a band as a backing vocalist which I loved but I always felt I could do more and push myself a little further. That opportunity came about during the pandemic lockdown when I took the scary plunge and decided to record myself singing my favourite songs which I posted on social media, never imagining in my wildest dreams that in doing so, I would receive some fabulously positive feedback!! Not only did this massively boost my confidence, but it also opened up so many doors for me; a studio recording, a collaboration or two, a couple of open mics, my own YouTube channel and jumping on vocals with a fair few cracking bands, before I found my ultimate happy place with the fabulous RockCandyGroove! It took a while to get here, but finally, I'm exactly where I want to be and I'm ready to share my passion for banging tunes with you!
Adie - Bass/Vocals
Hey, I’m Adie and I'm a Scorpio!! I started playing bass in 1977, the year Thin Lizzy released Bad Reputation, and I saw them at the Liverpool Empire. That was it. I wanted leather pants, an Afro and a black Fender Precision bass with a mirror scratch plate. Didn’t happen, especially the Afro and the leather pants, but I did form a band! It was awful. Years passed and I had a The Fall inspired 80s indie band trying to make it in London. Then played lead guitar in another 90s indie rock group called The Ferns, that was ok. Got ghosted. Long break, moved to the Midlands in 2004 and in 2010 reformed 80s Fall inspired band on bass again for a one-off gig in Brighton and got hooked, again. Decided to get back into it. Joined a band in Birmingham. Singer fell ill and I just happened to discover Ness. The End.
Ricki - Keys
Hello! I'm Ricki, originally from the great city of Liverpool but now residing in the Midlands. I graduated from university with a degree in Music in 2008 and not only have I reached the heady heights of securing Grade 8 in piano (I now teach piano privately) but I also obtained Grade 5 in cello! In addition I play bass, but Adie hasn't let me loose on his yet!! I went on to obtain my PGCE and Masters in Education which have been put to good use in my career to date, as I have been Head of Music in a secondary setting for the past 10 years. I have had lots of involvement in the world of Theatre and Arts in venues such as Birmingham Hippodrome, Sutton Arts Theatre and the Liverpool Empire to name a few. I have played in function bands for the past 20 years, so I'm pretty experienced in my field, I think you'll agree!
Olly - Guitar/Vocals
I'm Olly, RockCandyGroove's guitarist and backing vocalist. I've played guitar for around 12 years now, so I'm not too shabby at it! I enjoy playing various genres from Country through to Metal. I can also play saxophone but not at the same time as guitar which is a pity! I have played in covers band and originals bands across the Birmingham area, (but RockCandyGroove have been the best!) As well as playing guitars, I like building them, especially if I can get them to light up as I play! Oh and I also enjoy walks along the beach.....with or without a guitar!!
Jack - Drums
Hi, I’m Jack. Born and raised in Birmingham, and I’ve been playing drums for over 16 years. I graduated with a music degree in 2015. I’m the one behind the kit and the sound engineering for RockCandyGroove, blending my passion for rhythm with technical expertise. My journey includes touring, which has enriched my experience and broadened my musical horizons. Influenced by my brother and mom, I’ve turned my love for music into a career as a drum teacher, where I inspire others while continuing to evolve RockCandyGroove's sound.
